Thanks for the great article!

Years ago one of the books my father had me read when I was about 8 or 9, and which I have re-read a few times, is How to Read a Book by Mortimer J. Adler and Charles Van Doren . It's one of the most important books I ever read.

This article reflects much of what was said in that book. Adler and Van Doren suggested selecting important books to read and reading them at least three times, taking notes, really diving into the material carefully and diligently.

Like this article, they advocated the importance of reading one really great book deeply and thoughtfully over reading numerous books more casually, at least when it comes to engaging in deep learning reading.
